Tailgate replacement: Mopar VS no-name part

Yesterday while backing up, I hit a concrete light post base with the spare tire and bent the outer sheet metal of the tailgate behind the carrier. The gate shuts just fine, but the carrier/spare now sits a little crooked

I'm trying to decide between using the Mopar tailgate replacement part VS one from carparts.com. Mopar is $539.99 and the no-name is $353.35 (inc. shipped). I'm leaning toward the factory part unless anyone can vouch for no-name parts like these.

Have you considered looking at junkyards for a replacement? You could save a few bucks and you might even be able to find one in the color that you need. just a thought.

I'm currently searching local scrap yards for a set of full doors for my TJ. Color is not an issue but condition is, try find in a set with not rust out here in the salt belt....

Worth the effort if you can find it, plus wrenching in the yard is fun..... Good luck. I would agree with Eddie, junks yards are a to potential gold mine
