Blown Head Gasket

Looks like I blew a head gasket. 07 with 107k miles

The Jeep has never over heated and temp is maintaining.

I'm leaking coolant near cylinder 2 at the head.

Obviously I need to change the gasket and have things checked for warping.

Has anyone ever used Bars head gasket sealer on the 3.8? I'm hoping I can buy some time before the Jeep is down for a few days.

I'm scared that stuff could do more damage and clog the system.

I would never run something like that through the system. If it isnt done right it could clog anything and make everything fubr

I don't recommend any kind of stop leak in your cooling system!!!!!!!!!!!:naw:

This will possibly plug your radiator core and heater core. Plus block coolant flow internally.

Just fix it right the first time. Just pull the head, check it for cracks and also check the surface for warp-age.
If O.K.., then install a new gasket and torque to specs.........:thumb:

from experience I wouldn't add any stop leak unless you plan a bigger tear down repair or it's a must emergency.

as mentioned, you'll also end up adding a flush possible repair to the cooling components because of the way it works and if it pushes any fragments of the gasket or other bits into the cylinders the cost of repairs just went up!
