Can anyone recommend a good winch solenoid? My Warn 9.5 is currently wired directly to the battery and I'd really like the option to switch off the always hot power wire.

Blue Sea Systems mini switch or Warn power interrupter kit.

I like to look at marine stuff 1st, it can be cheaper but also better because of the waterproof and shock proof requirements.

I use the Warn Interrupter kit. I think it would be cheaper to get a solenoid & some wire. Here is a diagram of the wiring.

Check out the Waytek Wire DIY relay panel. In the thread Patorwug used a solenoid from a local auto parts store as his winch relay. I will be doing the same mod eventually.
