So I'm very new to everything Jeep and have a question for you more experienced people. What is the name of the part I have pictured and is that supposed to move by hand. I've began hearing a knocking noise in the front of of my jeep when I go over bumps.

That is your tie rod. Do you have a lift on your jeep?

No I don't. It's brand new

Hmmm, can you see any paint missing or metal that looks to be worn? I would go through all the bolts and check torque. Even from the factory parts get loose.

That is the adjustment for your tie rod. The bolt should be torqued properly, preventing the length of the tie rod from changing. You should not be able to turn it by hand unless you are trying to adjust it (after loosening the locking bolt)

No, I would get out the trusty old torque wrench and check everything out

I would tighten it down and go from there. It shouldn't be loose

What should it be torqued to? I'm in the exact same boat.

45 ft lbs. you can find all the torque specs here. I have the page bookmarked.
