I'm looking into buying a jk, there's one at a local dealer looked alittle out of the ordinary its an islander edition. Anybody know anything about them and is it worth the purchase?

Welcome! I love that color not to much on a stock JK but built rig would be sweet. I believe this is an islander, not too sure though.

From wiki. Looks like it's nothing more that a sport with a tire and interior upgrade.

Yup, as mentioned, nearly all "special editions" are little more than stickers and cosmetic upgrades. The only SE that gives you any real substance is the X or Rock Hard edition. They give upgraded bumpers, hoods, sliders that stick out a bit more, better stereo I believe. If you are planning on lots of mods and upgrading those parts, its not worth it either. If you plan to stay stock, its a great option and makes you winch ready in the front. Not to mention the front bumper is sexy as hell IMHO and able to be made a "stubby" with a few bolts removed. :yup:
