Throttle Body Cleaning...

Quick question... the dealer told me I had a dirty throttle body... so I'm figuring on cleaning it myself.

Rookie question... can you spay the hell it off it with throttle body cleaner while it's still attached to the rig, or do you have to remove it.

remove it to clean, it's easy. when you put it back on don't over tighten the bolts, the plastic body will crack.

Remove it you will need to soak it and scrub it.

how often are you guys cleaning stuff like that? just trying to make mine run as long as possible :beer:

SO done and done... pretty easy job.

Just make sure you have an E10 star socket, flat head screw driver, a bunch of towels, and a can of throttle body cleaner.

I heard the general maintenance is with every air filter cleaning.

Be carefull pulling the plug off, my friend broke the security tab on it. Now it won't stay on, had to secure it with zip tie.

I didn't break the clip... took the utmost care in removing it.. only to loose it somewhere in the engine... but the plug is still holding strong... no problems.
