Hauling Axle in a JKU?

Has anyone tried to transport an axle inside of their JKU? Is it possible?

It seems that the weight is sub 300lbs for a front D44 so I'd think two reasonably in shape adult males could load and unload it but that's just the picture in my head.

Anyone's experiences/thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

I believe OverlanderJK has hauled a rear 44 in his rig not long ago. Here's a pic of the same axle on the back of mine.

Yeah, it fits. I put a front D44 in the cargo area of a JKU.

Yea, I had a D44 in the back of my wives Hyundai Elantra coupe. JKU no problem.

Is wiring a Rubi locker as easy as just having a relay tied to a switch w/ an inline fuse receiving power from the battery?

Yea I just brought home a rear D44 in my JKU a few weeks ago. You'll need help getting it in and out unless you can fashion an elaborately janksty pulley system.
