Quick EVO Rock Slider Questions

For those of you that have installed the EVO Rock Sliders.

On the passenger side there is a plastic cover right next to the frame where the foot of the sliders get welded on. Did this cause any damage to the plastic cover on the other side of the frame? What precautions did you take?

Yup, just had mine welded on a couple of months ago and don't remember any plastic pieces.

At first I thought it was plastic by the look but it feels like it may be metal, but still seems a bit thin.

You weld them to the frame, not the gas tank skid. No issues.

Haha I know that, but I wasn't sure if the heat would penetrate through and heat the tank skid.
