Shot glass Tour

Many of you may remember that around this time last year Eddie posted for a chance to win a pair of shot glasses in honor of their upcoming California or Bust Trek. Luckily we were just getting ready to transfer from Virginia Beach, VA to San Diego, CA. My plan was to get photos and information up as soon as we got settled. Well between house hunting and starting work again things got put on the back burner. By the time I thought of it again it was time for the release of Pacific Northwest JKX videos and well that would have just been in poor taste to all those eagerly awaiting the upload, myself included. So that brings us to where we are now.

My wife has never been west if Wisconsin before this trip so the plan was to explore as much as we could. We made it into a three week trek across this great nation of ours with no real plans other than meeting up with a few old friends of mine in Colorado and Utah as these were my old stomping grounds growing up. Hope everyone enjoys. And of course another thank you to Eddie and Cindy for the shot glasses.

This was the photo that was entered into the contest. Our last weekend in VB spending some time down in the OBX. That will be one thing I miss about living out there.

Heading to Michigan to drop the kids off for the summer and enjoy adult time on the trip across.

I thought the Rocky Mountains would be a whole lot rockier. That John Denver sure is full of shit. In reality I grew up on the western slope of Colorado and knew what the eastern slope was all about.

Awesome little bar we stopped into for lunch and probably had a couple too many drinks. Hell with it. Good times chatting with the few locals that were there.

After Leadville, CO is was time to make out way to the Buena Vista, CO area. I use to raft guide a little here in Browns Canyon and the Royal Gorge during the summers and always loved the area.

Old stage coach route sign coming down the back side of Cottonwood Pass.

After a quick lunch stop in Gunnison, boy has it grown since I was in College at Western State there some 15 years ago. We headed to Montrose to stay with an old high school friend. The plan was to hit all the high mountain passes that I use to explore as I kid. But some late season snow put a damper on that. We did manage to get up into Yankee Boy Basin which was great to see. It has not really changed in 20 years since I was there last.
