sway bar position

My recently installed lift included front and rear sway bar links. They seem to short. While fitted the sway bars angle down almost 45 degrees. It seems to me they would work best at 90 degrees. The lift was suppose to be 4", but it went 5.5", could be why they seem short. How do you all have your sway bars set. Is between 45 and 90 all right.

ideally, you want your links sitting at about 5° up above horizontal. if they're pointing down, it won't really hurt anything but, they won't work as well as they could and you will run the risk of over extending them on the trail.
