Winch Connection

I am going to install my winch from my old LJ onto the JK finally. Unfortunately the cable is now too short. What would you guys recommend as far as connection? I have been thinking of a couple of options.

1. Open the winch and run a new cable the whole way.
2. Put in a high amp water proof plug or splice kit.

I have a Warn 9.5cti. I was thinking of the plug for ease, but wasn't sure if there would be some problems associated with it. Also curious what others have done when and if they have had to move their winch to different rigs. Thanks.

I would go with new cables all the way, you might check with a car audio installer about making new cables as they do it all the time.

You can try welding cables also. They are a little bit more flexible and easier to run to the battery.

You might call Warn, they probably would sell you longer cables...but unless you're really good at soldering, I would run new ones rather than extending such a low gauge power cable. It's the safer bet.
