EVO Stinger Question

Any one out there install their own evo stinger. Everything came in the mail this week and I'm looking to install this weekend. I'm going to stop at the hardware store on my way home from work to pick up some new drill bits but I'm unsure of the size of bit I need? Can any one let me know what size bit to pick up to drill the holes in my 1/4 pounder for my stinger? Thanks

Just take the bolt with you - I'm sorry I don't remember the size - One thing I can say is buy a good bit as the steel is a tough drill, Also the front (top) bolts are a bitch - One trick is to trim the corners of the frame horns to make this bolt easier to get on - some have used longer bolts to help with this.

Good luck with the install - it is really pretty straight forward.

Disclaimer - I did not even drill/install the front bolts (on my list to do)

I installed mine, I believe the bit was 3/8s. Take the bolt with you though!

I love this move. I have done the same thing before. It's a little difficult, they can go on later. Lol.

Thanks all for the replies. I'll be sure to post some pics once it's installed. Sounds like I might be missing the two front bolts though. :thumbup:

I installed mine as well, and I think it was a 3/8ths.

Be sure to have a spare on hand though... This is what happened to mine midway through install...

I broke a drill bit on that exact hole! Added nearly an hour of work. But nothing a bfh couldn't fix.

Did my own install. Very simple with lots of good write ups here. I think I used strizzy's write up.

This is why I still haven't drilled this hole.. I only did the back two!

Just drill a pilot hole first and it will be easy. If you try drilling through 1/4" plate steel in one shot it won't work.

Yup, pilot holes and cutting oil work great.
