Welding and electronics

Getting ready to install my lift soon and have a question. Its the 2.5" RK Flex kit and it says to weld the rear track bar bracket to the axle. Years ago, I worked in a shop that had something we hooked to the battery like a set of jumper cables whenever we needed to weld on it but I don't remember what it was called or have access to that tool. Should I leave the battery hooked up, disco the ground or disco the positive and ground? The only video I have seen it doesn't mention the battery, I noticed the ground cable was on the track bar bolt keeping it close to the area being welded which I would normally do when welding anyway.

What are your opinions how to weld without damage to the electrical circuits?
Thanks!

I would disconnect the positive and negative from your battery. Put the ground as close to your weld as possible and the current will only travel that small distance.

This ^^^ That should be all that you need to do.
