Front pads and rotors

Hey guys just changed my front pads and rotors on my rig and they are whisteling any ideas what could be the reason? New rotors are slotted and pads are ceramic

Are your pads rubbing your rotors?

Worth checking out the splash guard's clearance. Did you use the grease for the back sides of the pads and cover them completely as well as the shims?

LOL!! That's what I was thinking too.

To the OP, can you be more specific? Is the sound continuous or just happens under certain situations?

Ceramic can squealing.

Its whistelling and happens only when i hit the brakes. first couple of times no sound at all i think its after it heats up it starts whistelling when i hit the brakes and no i greased only the pins

Slight hijack here. Are the splash guards/ dust shield necessary? Or can I leave them off?

Probably not *necessary*, however, they probably keep some of junk out of your brake system.

I probably wouldn't remove them unless I was having an issue I just couldn't resolve.
