Paint or Powdercoat?

I have a bare steel tire carrier that I want to color match with the Jeep (white). I called a few places for an estimate to paint (~$600) and Powdercoat (~$175). Besides the cost difference, what are the pros/cons between painting and powder coating?

I would go with powder coating. I painted my front poison spider bumper and I keep getting good size paint chips from stuff on or off road hitting my bumper. I have almost 7 layers of bed liner and paint on the bumper because I keep having to paint the areas that are chipped. Powder coat is not the toughest but it will take a little more abuse than paint. The only downside to powder coat is your going to have to clean the threads because it will be tough installing the bolts of you don't.
