Gonna be headed up to Prescott, AZ for the weekend. Friday was thinking about heading over to Sedona and hike Cathedral rock with the kids. Curious if there are any jeep trials local to it. Might be able to hit one up while I am there!
Any info is appreciated!

There are several popular trails in Sedona but being new to this I've only done a couple.

Dry Creek Road has some nice views at the end and a somewhat challenging section heading up to the VanDerin cabin. It is '2' Difficulty with the cabin section rated a 4.

Soldier's Pass is pretty cool and shouldn't take you long. There are two side trails that lead to 7 pools and Devils kitchen (a sinkhole). This trail is rated a 4. (5 up to Devils Kitchen)

Broken Arrow is very popular as well but I haven't had a chance to do that one yet. Difficulty 7.

Schnebly Hill Road is very easy but is also long (11 miles). If you enter from the Sedona side that is where the best Red Rock views can be found and the trail gets easier as you leave Sedona and enter Coconino National Forest. It leads all the back to I-17. Rated a 2.

Hope this helps and have a good time!

Also, if you swing by a place called Barlow's Jeep Rentals, they can give you printed maps of all the trails in the area, and point you in the right direction to get there and give pointers on how to navigate the trails you'll be running.

I'd recommend Broken Arrow, Soldiers Pass and Greasy spoon. But there are many fun trails local to Sedona. Get in touch with Barlow Jeep Rentals, good people. Stay Safe and have fun out there! :thumb:

Well it was a fun couple days! We ended up going to Sedona on Friday and Saturday! It is beautiful country up there.
Friday we tried to get the kids on board and hike Cathedral Rock. But instead of sleeping on the drive out over night the decided to stay up... So sleepy and grumpy just got us to do a short easy hike and then the played in the water at Crescent Moon. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1439226766.159470.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1439226790.664866.jpg
After we headed out to Schnebly Hill Rd. Loved all the views. Plus all the lightning and thunder around us!
Saturday we got up and headed back to Sedona. We did Dry Creek Rd. Hiked up to Devil's Bridge. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1439227428.366262.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1439227444.489819.jpg
After we headed up the rest of Dry Creek Rd. Went and saw Van Deren cabin. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1439227664.995168.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1439227681.869685.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1439227716.173548.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1439227735.167223.jpg
Decided instead of taking streets out of Sedona we would do Schnebly Rd again. Loved the views from this trail and the wildlife that you get to see on the last 5 miles out! Luckily for us it rained Friday night so we got to splash mud all over the place. I am usually not a big fan just because of the clean up.... But the kids loved it so we hit almost every mud hole on the way out! ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1439228364.931963.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1439228175.516499.jpg
And as I am airing up the tires the family decided to have a mud ball fight! ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1439228463.208649.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1439228534.775280.jpg
