Tailgate Vent Cover

I just installed a JKS tailgate cover yesterday. Must be a poor design. Now when I turn up my fan in vent or air conditioning mode I hear a loud squeal as air is being forced out thru the door rubber seals. The higher I turn it up the louder. Just got home and left it on high and got out and the door wouldn't close the first time- so much air pressure. Once closed I walked around the jeep and you can hear air blowing out both doors and the tailgate. Now the only way I can run it is with window cracked a little or on recirculating. Must not be enough vent holes. Anyone else have these problems with a vent cover?

I had that problem on my old 2 door with a home made one I had, it had no vent holes. I ended up putting washers between the plate and the tailgate to help relief some of the pressure

That's a good idea. When I get time I'll space out the bottom and keep the top sealed to help keep water out. Worth a try. Thanks.

I had one from JCR when I got all my jumpers and I never noticed a problem. Useless info for your problem, just thought I'd share [emoji106]
