Need help with transmission problem

Okay I have a 99 jeep grand cherokee limited 4.7l with the 45rfe transmission... It has The p0700 code I've had it cleared and it came back on... When I'm going around 40mph it shifts up and down erraticly.. And when I'm accelerating it has no power... I'm thinking the transmission solenoid pack is bad but I want some second opinions before I spend $207 on the solenoid pack also when I put it in drive or reverse it kicks in really hard and the engine almost dies... Any thoughts?

Sound like it could be a solenoid from what your saying... If you can check it with an ohm meter it should be around 20+ ohms... If not then it's bad and needs to be replaced. If it's still in that range you could have a faulty valve or the tranny needs to be flushed and filter changed... Either way you should probably get the tranny serviced and then keep up with it every 30-35k if your doing moderate wheeling.
