Torn ball joint boot

So I was going through my front end about 2 weeks after I had a shop install synergy ball joints and noticed there both uppers are torn. Do you think they messed up on the install or just bad luck and I tore them somehow?

They, most likely, left the boots on during the installation process. I tore one of mine on the install, with a screwdriver, and repaired it with a little gorilla super glue and it's still good a little over a year later.
