Popping noise from rear diff when locked

How does the locker work?
Mine pops like it is not fully engaged, and the lock indicator does not stay on but flashes
I suspect the system used a pawl and it may be broken or damaged

I am sure someone here knows exactly what is going on

This jeep is an 08 JKU and is new to me
Thanks
Jim

There is a dog clutch that engages the locker when activated. Sounds like you might have worn down or broken teeth on it.

I would like to know if I can fix it
I was told jeep wont sell individual parts, just the complete center section

It has 35s and 5:13s

If you can't get parts to repair it, how would you fix it? This isn't the first Rubicon locker I've heard of breaking. Might want to start looking at aftermarket options.

IIRC; they do not sell replacement parts for the locker. Only a whole new replacement Locker, and at a premium. When a factory Rubicon locker fails, MOST opt for either just an Air locker replacement (and shafts) or have been saving for some time for this inevitable day, and make the axle jump to either a TRUE 44 front; or a 60, front or rear. The cost of the factory locker is insane, and doesn't make sense when you price it out
