Single clunk noise when releasing gas peda

I have a 2013 jku Sahara, automatic with about 38k miles on it.

When I give it gas and then take my foot off the gas pedal I get a single clunk noise from underneath it. It feels like it's taking longer going into the right gear and then once it goes into gear it clunks.

I've search forums but idk what it could be because others get multiple clunks and other noises.

I too have this strange clunk. 2010 JKUR. Curious to see where this goes

Have the same thing. Auto trans. I have the same clunk on my WJ too! I have put lots of miles on my WJ and never had a problem though.

Check the u-joints on your driveshafts. What you're describing sounds exactly like cap failure.

I had this problem before and it ended up being a loose rear control arm (passenger upper to be exact). Everytime I stepped on the pedal and the jeep rocked back it would clank. Tightened it up and the noise went away
