Fuel filter....

I am replacing the fuel pump in my JK shortly. I recieved the new one in the mail yesterday and upon opening the box for part inspection I thought I would see some sort of internal screen / filter. I know there is no external replacable filter and had always been told that it was in the tank. Well........ I dont see it. Is there a filter at all?

I'm guessing from lack of response that it is not a very common thing to replace the fuel pump in a jk.

Ive been waiting to see a response on this as well. I was dumbfounded that an offroad vehicle didnt have a fuel filter and than like you I read it was part of the pump. Ive got 145k and havnt had to do a pump yet. Knock on wood
