Mobile Vietnam Memorial Wall Exhibit

Not everyone has a chance to go to the Washington DC memorial wall. I've never been and neither has my son. But we were fortunate enough this Independence Day weekend to have the wall come to us.

Well, a scaled replica known as the Mobile Wall exhibit. As luck would have it, my son and I were able to have some time today to visit.

As much as possible, I think it is important to pay respect to those who serve...especially those who paid the ultimate price. More than 58,000 names and the wall ONLY includes those who died/MIA/POW within the Vietnam border.

These are replica dog tags representing those who served and lived in the greater San Gabriel/Chino Valleys. Shoes and hat are real and donated by a Purple Heart vet.

If anyone is interested and lives in the SoCal area. The wall will be at Ayala Park in chino this weekend. Or Im sure you can look it up to see if it will make a stop near you.

Yeah, it's a pretty cool exhibit. They come to Jackson, MS, every year to an event called The Trail of Honor in the 3rd week of May.

I've been to the Wall in DC...it is a very powerful visual memorial...as was the Korean War memorial for myself, having been born in Seoul to an army father shortly after the war ended. You must always remember the past, lest it repeats itself...

Wow that is awsome! I grew up hearing stories from Vietnam being that my grandfather was there! I gotta see when that is close to me!
