A good friend of mine is fly in from Ohio this weekend for a work convention in San Diego. He has the weekend free.

Whats some cool things to see or do in San Diego? Of course there will be plenty of drinking involved :drunkbuds:

I'm shocked they'll be drinking involved. 😱 When I lived there friends and family always liked the zoo and Coronado. Actually I guess it depends on the friends because I ended up in bars, Tijuana and tattoo/piercing shops...a lot.

Definitely Old Town for the adult fun. Good food beverages and cool old buildings and history. More lively is the Gas Lamp district.

If you go to Old Town hit the Cafe Coyote and the Old Town Mexican Cafe. Old Town is right off of the 8 by the Marine Corp Recruit Depot (MCRD).

And of course Coronado for the sights!

You definitely need to do the gas lamp district and maybe hit old town for some Mexican food and one of the local breweries! Weather is going to be great this weekend with 70's predicted so you might want to do Pacific Beach and some of the bars on the beach...sorry too old these days to tell you which are the ones to hit maybe hit up Nick my Yellow brother! ;)

The closest thing to Mexican food he'll eat is Taco Bell. Remember when you were in Ohio?

haha I know that story! As others have said Gaslamp is cool, Ocean Beach is low key, PB is more college kids and school starts this week so it should be busy down there. Old Town during the day, get ahold of me if you wanna get together. I have Friday and Saturday off.

I don't know if you drink or not :)cheesy:) but there are a lot of breweries.

There is cook your own steak joint in the Gas Lamp called the Strip Club that I've been to. It's pretty good.

Where to beginning?!

Downtown have so many bars (dive, high end, Irish, and piano) and clubs range from nice shirt and jeans to vegas style dress code. Same goes for the restaurants there to.

Mission valley has a country bar/club, In cahoots and few other bars/grills.

Little Italy near downtown/airport has plenty of bars and restaurants. Tasty food.

North park has a few bars for tasty beers on tap. Seven grand is whiskey bar stock to the ceiling with bottles! Toranodo's, blind lady ale house(B.L.A.H) just name a few have amazing beers on tap.

Ocean beach, has the best fish tacos at south beach grill. Nice dive bars with cheap drinks on Newport. Watch out for the bums!

Point loma to the light house has great views of downtown with the mountian range in the background!

Pacific beach, bars, bars, bars and restaurants steps from the beach! The Tap Room has the best selection of beers on tap! Rocky's Bar has the best cheeseburger around. Hoboken pizza for late night pizza run. Most of the bars are on garnet ave and mission blvd.

La jolla downtown has la jolla brew house, great site seeing and restaurants with a few clubs at night. Check out the big cross in la jolla, amazing views of all of San Diego. La jolla shore to glider port is cool to check out. Torrey pines golf course right above the beach.

Corando, corando brewing, views of downtown, hotel del is a must.

Pizza port restaurant is located in OB, slogans beach and Carlsbad. Great pizza with amazing micro brews. Talking about micro brews, I think San Diego county has over 30 breweries in a county and not including brewpubs.

Mission beach has Belmont park old ass wooden roller coaster. Sea world.
The Zoo and balboa park is cool to check out with all the museums. There a few casinos in San Diego but at least a 30 minute drive from downtown.

If you need more specifics on things to do let me know.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way as I do mean it as a compliment but, when reading this, I couldn't help but to have this image in my head.

Lol! I tried to but I left so much else out. If Chris's friend is anything like Chris i know, then it's go to one bar, drink, drive(scenic tour) to another bar and drink some more! 👍🍻 x3 days!
