4wd light indicator on

Hello fellows

This happened today when I switched to 4wd for a small obstacle and switched back to 2wd, the 4wd light indicator on the dash wouldn't go off.
I was able to go from for high to lo to 2wd but the light is always on.
Any idea ?

We're you in 4lo originally? Did you put trans in neutral when you went back to 2wd?

Could be the transfer case position indicator. It is located on the top of the transfer case. It is difficult to get to. I have the same problem as you and I did have my position indicator replaced but, mine is still staying on. It might be a short in the wiring harness. My fix for now is a piece of electrical tape over the light. [emoji45]

Yes I did put it on neutral like I usually do before shifting
