You will need to buy all new internals, so axles, carrier, gears. Your ball joints and knuckles and brakes will swap over. When you look at the total cost, you may just wanted to save up and buy a ProRock44 housing which is completely different and way stronger all around.

This, sorry I misread OP's original post.
Unless you find the entire assembly for a steal, its usually not worth it.
Housing isn't worth anything.

like others have said, it's usually not worth it.

what happened to the axle that the internals and a knuckle were removed?

do you plan to regear the current rear axle?

I would think in your area you should be able to find a complete dana44 for a good price, also check the local 4x4shops
