Those of you running 40s

With a full width Dynatrac (68 1/2") and 40s running about 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 inches of lift can you get away with 4.5" of backspacing or does one have to go with 4"? I'm assuming the required trimming of pinch seems and high clearance fenders by the way.

Thanks

Depends on whether or not you're running 13.50 wide tires or 15.50 wide tires. It also depends on what suspension system you're running as something like the bypass shocks on an EVO DTD will get in the way with too much back spacing. 4" with 13.50's is about as high as I would go with standard full width axles.

Good point. Forgot to mention that. Would be running 40x13.50r17 with an EVO Double Down Pro coilover set up.
