8x6.5 or 5x5.5 bolt pattern on soon to be ordered Dynatrac axles?

Once again, seeking knowledge from the gurus...

Ordering Dynatrac Hardcore ProRock 60/60 axle set soon and planning on going with 8x6.5 bolt pattern, but wondering what the advantage is of both options. I need new wheels either way and they are the same price regardless of bolt pattern.

What say ye?

If you need new wheels anyway, I would definitely go with 8 lug. It's much stronger.

I went cheap to avoid new wheels and wish I hadn't
Go 8 lug and you won't regret it

If you don't already have them, you could always upgrade your wheel studs to 9/16" racing studs. That's a pretty good setup for a 5x5.5.

Do the 9/16 racing studs fit in d44 axles as well?

I would go 8 lug and never look back. You will later regret not going 8 lug. IMO

That surprises me that you could even get a 1 Ton with only 5 lug.

They were introduced back in the late 80's and for Jeeps that weighed about 3000 lbs. 5x5.5 is what Jeeps came with back then and is still a common bolt pattern.
