You all wanted rear coils and we listened!
And we made those coils progressive front and rear too!
The ride is very smooth, paired with either the RS5000X or the adjustable RS9000XL shock.
Check with your favorite retailer on cost. :)

Nice!!!
One thing that people (not you per se) if people have an thought in the back of their head of going bigger, save the money for that.
On this system the only thing you can "reuse" is the rear shocks pretty much.
But if you are looking for a nice "level" this is a deal!

I'll watch you install it. And MAYBE turn a wrench, I am unfortunately an "expert" at removing the passenger front shock.

Matt, do you have a ballpark MSRP on the kit?

Rancho
02-23-2017, 09:46 PM
Let's say about $75 or so than a set of shocks.
So if 4 RS9000XL are $440 add $75 ($525ISH)
If 4 RS5000X are $225 add $75. ($300ISH)
Remember ISH

I've been looking at your 3" springs to finally ditch my budget boost, but because the description says 35" tires with minor trimming I might get this whole kit instead.

Ok, I'm very interested. There is a fair chance that my oldest son is going to end up with my JK in two years so I am looking for a reasonable kit to run 35's while still keeping a very low COG.

Yup! The only extra I'd need are new rear sway bar links.

Rancho

Not a bad option, as the rear shock has the extra travel.
The front is a "shorter" shock to keep the newer (3.6) driveshaft out of the exhaust.

There is talk of selling just the progressive springs.
They would be a bit more than the linear springs.
Right now (I think it is $189 took a price increase end of the year ) so a bit more than that.
But I don't know the sales/pricing side that well until it is common knowledge.

The front on the the 4 door is right around 2.25 for a bumper/winch
The front on the 2 door is a tad taller, for added weight.
Both are pretty spot on for either the JK/JKU

I think this is what I have been waiting for... I have gone from wanting the Evo Leveling kit to the Rancho sport kit (spring and spacer) and now this. I wonder exactly how much trimming would need to be done with 35" KM2's on stock rubi rims and 1.5 spacers??

What year JK?

Here is the info:

REAR door area on the 4 DR ( Metal right next to the rock rail on the rubi ) just need to cut that sharp piece, usually on the pre 2013.

2Dr , same area . On the front , it was around the base of the front fender and the big factory fenders.

Most likely not. Sorry
If you go with a extension up front use one on the bottom. If I recall the tops don't work since there is a different diameter from OE to the Rancho shock.
These coils are a progressive coil while the Evo are a linear style.
At one time on our old set up coils were very similar to the EVO and people would be hard press to notice a difference. :D

Perfect! The short spacer just isnt enough with a heavy bumper and spare added back there, and I just dont think a stiffer rear coil from another mfg would be a good match.

I know its not the same coil, but should be similar in lift height, im running the evo leveling kit with 18/59 springs in the rear, about a 3" lift all the way around on my two door, and am running the 29 and 30 rancho 5000Xs, will be adding rockstars in the rear and i have plenty of room to do so. Coursers are pretty GOOD they were on my radar. And the lift is priced right too, I bet the rebate will be like $100 off. Go for it!

Edit: to add the word "good" after the word "pretty" above, haha.

Still waiting on part numbers....looking at one vendor with discount on top of the rebate. Which is good bwecause I keep going back and forth from 5000 and 9000 shocks. I know I could use the 9000's on some of the roads I travel on, but my fat ass would be too lazy to get out and adjust them. I am kinda toying with just getting the 4 door, but that might put me back where I am trying to get away from.

There has been strong talk about offering these.
That was my first question back to engineer/sales.

So what your saying is if I hold out a little longer there is a possibility to get front and back two inch "plush-ish" springs??? :fingerscrossed:

More like rear only for those who are running the "old" 2" SPORT system.
But maybe.....
And very plush :)

Not "bundled" up from us unfortunately.
The front works from stock to a "level".
And the rears aren't really 3" longer. Just for a system that is in the range of 3" or so.
:)
Thanks Matt

Is it needed? probably not. I had a guy drive from SoCal to Moab and back and loved the ride.

If you start to add stuff to this system, I would just go with our 3" SPORT

Ok. I am currently running the evo leveling kit modified worth a 1.75 inch spacer and needing to look at this instead due to changing it the rear bumper when I get back home. Between the heavier rear wheel and tie combo and now the addition to an all steel bumper I am afraid it is going to sag my backend instead of sitting level.

Just found out that the reason why it costs $831ish for just the parts here is because of shipping [emoji849]perks of living in Hawaii I guess. Have to almost double the price just to get it here.

Still planning on doing it though. Just gonna have to wait a little longer. [emoji106]

Just finished the install. The front netted ~2.5" and the back netted ~2". I took pics of the measurements if anyone wants them. Took me about 3.5 hours for install and that was with me being a first timer. I think the hardest part was breaking the loctite on my spider Trax wheel spacers and prying them off the hub. Took it for a quick ride and I thought I heard a little rubbing while backing out of my driveway. I'll need to check that out this weekend. So far I really like it.

Message me with any questions.

I really like it so far. Springs feels pretty close to stock.
I went with the 9000 series adjustable shocks. Still trying to figure out what setting I like there.

I did some urban offroading (to avoid an accident) and everything felt nice and solid while jumping curbs and sidewalks.

I had some rubbing on the factory bumper skid plate plastic. I just removed it. Got an LOD Destroyer shorty bumper on order.

With flat fender and the bump stops you will be good to go even at full stuff. I done my fender chop but no bump stops with the evo leveling kit witch gives slightly more hight on the front I still rub the front but only under a really hard flex. Bump stop would fix that. So figure a 2 inch bump setup I think it comes with it and flat fenders or fender chop and you souls be good too go

Yes. He turns 16 in about 10 months. I'm going to do a few more things for him first (mild lift, wheels, 315's, a cage, and maybe OBA) and then hand it over.

My general plan is to drive one of our other vehicles until the Jeep truck comes out.

Rancho - I'm confused. In this thread you say the rear is about a 2" lift. On Rancho's website it says the rear is only a 3/4" lift?

Correct a little trimming is need to run the 35" tire.
So it will sit pretty even front and rear too, depending on weight.
It will rain more than 3/4" in the rear too.
Just the way we word things. Lie on the trucks we say "lift the rear 2.5" but the front 6"... but it really gets it up to correct ride height.

Pretty much running 315s or 35s you will have to trim the fender flares or get get an aftermarket high clearance flare running anything under a 3 inch lift.

I have the older kit with a 3/4" spacer in the rear on factory rubicon rear springs (59, IIRC), and I have very minor tire rub at full flex. Kit does not come with rear bump stops, so do a bit of trimming or add 1/2 or 3/4" of rear bump stop and problem is solved.

note that is with a LOD linked tire carrier and a 315 wheel/tire combo on the back as well.

Does anyone know if you can get just the rear coils? I already have the 2" evo leveling coils on the front.

Just pulled the trigger on this. I have 315 Duratracs on ATX Cornice wheels sitting in the living room waiting for some love. Q-tec better deliver quickly (considering their West Coast distribution center is local to me). Very excited to test this new kit out.

So, I've had this suspension for 2 months now and must say I'm still happy with the ride. But the front springs have settled a little bit. If I run the 9000s at setting 1 it will get into the bump stops on any significant bump on the highway. Thinking about either adding a small spring spacer to the front or getting shorter bump stop extensions. All figure all that out after I get my new tires here shortly.

Still waiting for mine to show up from QTec. Sounds like it could be another couple of weeks. Anyway, did you do anything with the bump stops? I'm just wondering if I should plan for the sag and do something right out of the gate.

It comes with the stops for the front. That is where the "concern" is from our standpoint.

:)

Thanks, I saw that. :thumb: Sounds like the guy above is hitting them pretty quickly. I'm just wondering if I should go with less of an extension.

Running the 9000s at 1 on the highway is a bit odd, no? That's basically like running with no shock at all.

Here are a couple quick pics. In the first you can see where the bumpstop has cleaned the dirt off from contact. There is about 1 inch between the bump and extensions. The top 3 loops of the coil are completely compressed and touching.

So if I was looking to put 35's on a 2 door with stock fenders would I be good to run these and a 1" spacer front and rear? Curious if I would need new driveshafts or adjustable control arms for that height.

Mine is a bit different since I have a 4-door, but I have this kit and KO2 315s and haven't had any issues with my stock fenders. Rides great and as of now I don't think it needs any other mods. I haven't gone off road yet so I might trim the fenders soon, but just as my DD it has been great so far. No rubbing yet even when I went looking for some so far.

It depends on if this system gives a true 2" on a 2 door. I used EVO springs in the front and got 3" out of them once the settled in, so no spacer needed for 35s.

That said, you're gonna want to swap out your driveshaft eventually because it will catch on the exhaust skid and tear the boot. You won't need adjustable arms yet. I do recommend C gussets, though.

You probably won't need a new driveshaft unless you put on new shocks that extend past 25".

Why in the hell would you do that? I can see a 4 door to a 2 door which would give it a higher lift and rougher ride. I would think you would not gain much at all in my opinion.

It will "fit" but as mentioned it will be a tad shorter and we use a different coil too.
I would have 4WP Canada get you the right system.
