Morning Guys ,

Just bought a new 75th Unlimited

Just a quick question on Tyre's , The dealership fitted Maxis Bighorns 762 ( 285/70/17 ) and the Standard Size is normally 245/75/17

What will the negative implications be for this change ?

Thanks Guys

Speedo may be off, minor changes in has gas mileage(due to bigger rubber and difference in speedo ), but with only going up to that tire size, nothing really.

If the dealership put bigger tires on, should they have not adjusted the speedo?

They will not be able to adjust your speedo above the largest tire that comes from the factory. Unless they sent you home with a ProCal, Flashcal or the like, your speedo is most likely off.

Maybe it's just an Australian thing but with mine the speedo was reading 6-7km/h high with the stock 245/74r17 tyres. Going to 285/70r17s has it reading only 1km/h high.

We have a certified chassis dyno for calibrating speedos where I work.
