Finally picked up a CB for the Jeep. Just debating where to mount it. I am between mounting it on the side of the console http://www.quadratec.com/products/96080_21X_PG.htm or above the rear view mirror http://www.quadratec.com/products/96080_1202.htm .

That's a great radio! I would go above the rear view mirror.

That is a great radio, I mounted mine above the rear view mirror. Works great there, easy to get to, display is very visible, and you can hear the speaker.




I did my antenna a little diffevent then most people do. I mounted it on the drivers side, front fender. I looked on some sites about having a better ground plane up front, it seams to work well up front. I used a Wilson 1000 trunk mounted antenna.

Love that radio, I have it as well. The only gripe I had with it was the stock mic. It sounded horrible and quiet. When the mic gain was turned up it was distorted. There is a chip and easy mod that will allow better quality mics to be used. Look up "Loudmouth mod Cobra 29" on YouTube. It was worth the $30 for the module and a few $$ more for my new mic. It sounds crystal clear now and my mic gain is less than half up.
