Protecting your spare tire

Hi everyone. I have been watching a lot of the video's and I love them. I noticed in some of the video's some of the vehicles have a bent tube coming out of the rear hitch receiver to protect the rear tire when rock crawling. I am looking for a heavy duty one for my JKU. Does anyone one know where I can buy one? Thanks and stay safe. :)

I made mine as most folks do. I'm not sure if there are any on the market to be sold. I've seen folks use a trailer hitch with a 5" drop or more turned upside down. It's called a rear hitch stinger.

Thank you for the reply. I am not a builder and I have no tools. If someone would like to make me one I would pay them for their time and trouble. It does not have to be painted as I at least can do that.

If i were you, buy the insert, then find a cheap welder in the area and tell him what you want to do. He'll probably have to take some measurements anyways.

i decided to go a bit more simple, I didn't want to take the chance of a tire support getting pushed up on a hard hit and driving the tire up

This is an early pic - it's powder coated now

You can pick up a hitch draw bar with a 5 1/4" drop for around $30 at many auto parts stores. Remove the ball and insert it into the hitch upside down.

I've successfully used it a couple times off road for protection and no fab/welding needed.
