3' or 2.5 inch exhaust for jk?

2.5" if your NA is the norm. Your JK comes stock with 2.5" already. Anything bigger and you're probably losing power. Just lose the big muffler in the back.

3" is for high power forced induction.

This^^ you only really need 3" if your motor puts out a lot of power. Your motor is a giant air pump so the more air your taking in you need an easy way to get it out. For our little motors just stick with what's stock

What are the pros and cons of a 2.5 to 3 inch exhaust system for a jk? What are people running?

Won't make a difference. The JK motors don't breathe enough air to care about it. It's not a 500hp V8.

I'm running stock with a sazwall'd off tail pipe after it was smashed.

Chrysler didn't leave any extra power hidden in a restricted exhaust or intake. There just isn't anything much we can do to get more. Fooling around with the exhaust is only gonna change the tone. Fooling around with the intake just lets in dirt.
