The rear over hang is a little long in my opinion. I would like to see the rear wheels further back or more angle in the rear. You will definitely need a lift and larger tires to get a good break over and departure angle. Thinking 4-6 inch lift with 40's.

it has to be longer in order to get a higher tow rating. no one would buy a truck with a sub-4k pound tow limit. this will have a 6-7k pound limit. can't wait.

Seems to me this truck will be aimed at a small market segment. Those that love the Wrangler and want to see it in truck form. There will be some mall crawlers out there who want one. I see it going the way of the scrambler in a few years.
Still hoping to hear more from FCA.

When I first got my Brute, it had a 35 under the bed between the frame rails...It really wasn't a problem there, and for anyone who's owned a pickup knows, it's a common place for the spare. However, when I went up to 37's, the spare had to go into the bed...while it made changing out the spare easier, there was a slight change to the cog...but not much.

If I end up getting a JT, I am totally going to build a tire carrier in the bed like you did in your JK6. I think it looks sweet like that. I just want to make sure I can still fit cargo/wood underneath it. Time will tell.

You may be surprised honestly. I imagine that FCA would have it in the midsized truck segment, which is a booming segment. Toyota has the Tacoma, Nissan has the Frontier, Ford is bringing the Ranger back, and Chevy has the Colorado. All of those vehicles sell really really well (think of how many of those you see on the road). This is the one market that FCA really isn't a part of, ever since the Dakota was cut out of the Dodge/Ram division.

Imagine the offroad competition in that segment  :
-Ford Ranger Raptor
-Chevy Colorado ZR2
-Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro
-Nissan Frontier Pro-4X
-Jeep Scrambler Rubicon

Exactly. Over here itís the fastest growing market segment. Especially the premium models. The JT is more aimed at Europe, South Africa and Australia where full size trucks arenít the norm.

I've been giving this some thought and now at a crossroads as to whether get a new JT pu or modify my Brute...after seeing what Dynatrac did to a brand new JL, I'm thinking of doing something similar to a JT pu with 40's...but if the wheelbase is the same as the Brute, and they don't offer a diesel, I may just change up the Brute...remove the sf rear pr60 and pr44 front and install a ff prxd 60's, regear to 5:38, remove the aev suspension and install a dtd front and king coilovers rear...move the aux fuel tank into the bed and chop 10-12" off the bed for better departure angle...remove the front & rear bumpers and go with stubbies...psc hydro assist & progrip brakes...

AEV kept the rated towing capacity the same as the JKU for liability reasons. My Brute does have a Class III hitch which will allow me to tow 6000 lbs...and with the longer wheelbase and 5.7 hemi, it shouldn't be a problem.

I've decided to keep Brute, upgrade the axles to Dynatrac XD60/XD60 with 1550LT front wheel ends, Pro Grip Brakes, ARB lockers and 5:38 gears; install EVO Double D Pro suspension and King air bumps; 40" Cooper STT Pro tires...and PSC hydro assist steering. I'm going to look into the feasibility of shortening the bed just a tad to improve departure angle...if it's going to be a major project that is just too much cost to justify, then I'll just change the front & rear bumpers to the same GenRights that I have on the JK6 and call it a day...

I'll start this project by the end of summer...

NW side of Indy...

Lady in the car was not too happy. I couldn't even see anyone inside, but she opened the door and ask what I was doing. I just ignored her. It was plainly obvious what I was doing. :)

My dealer told me today that all FCA diesels, including Rams, are on hold awaiting EPA testing to be sure there is not a ďVolkswagenĒ issue.

He also said that they will not be able to place orders on 2019ís until late September for January delivery. No new packages confirmed as available on the 19ís except the motorized roof.

Damn, it has a kill switch on the dash. It really is a mule.

Adam, I wonder if itís just a bed they throw on for testing. It looks odd for sure.

If the bed is that high you can lose the bumper and have a pretty decent angle still

I guessing that isnít the bumper thatís going to be on it, it looks like the Ď19 ram rear bumper.

I didn't notice any diesel sounds, or it wasn't running, don't recall, but no diesel sounds.

I used to live about 2 blocks from that Chick Fil-A.

Thanks for posting the test mule pics. I'm going to be seriously tempted to trade in my JKU when these come out.

I passed it in Ft Wayne again today and this time I had time to stalk them for a while. I pulled a u turn west of town to follow it and went clear through town to the next town until it hit the interstate towards Toledo. The flap was loose by the door and it was white with black spray paint zebra stripes. The rear end looked like a 44 maybe (?) and size seemed to be as big as a half ton
