Power steering res filter

Inside the reservoir there seems to be what looks like a filter screen. Do all Jk's have this?

I tore a small hole in mine and am wondering if I should buy a new reservoir.

Anyone have any insight?

Chrysler has used that system for years. And yes, I believe the screen only comes with the reservoir.

You could probably leave it as is, however if a piece breaks off, it could clog the system or damage the pump.

That's what I was thinking. A piece coming off and going into the system would not be ideal!
