New JW Speaker J2 lights

So JW Speaker came out with their new J2 models and the whole dual burn feature is awesome, not enough to justify switching from my Evolution J, but awesome nonetheless. What I haven't found, is the difference between the 6145Js and the 6145J2s, seems like this would be a great time to find the Js on special sales but would love to know if there are any differences on the fogs...

I dont like the half halo for looks for sure, but it has a function I believe. I think it is part of the anti flicker circuit. When I look at the lights through a camera, I can see the light cycling in the half halo, sort of like a white light version of a Cylon. Its pretty cool. A coworker surmised a gas of some sort, I forget what he said as a description. As to the lights, amazing.
