Finally replaced my JKU's TIPM. The dealer would not acknowledge anything was wrong and was blaming the auxiliary lights and winch as "too much stuff connected" causing the crazy behavior.
So, I went to a small electric shop whose owners work quite well and they pointed to the TIPM, as all evidence was also doing.
They ordered a new one and replaced the old one. The windshield gremlins seem to be gone and even some stuff that I had written off such as the two-stage doors unlock (driver first then all others) is working again.
They said the old TIPM was supposed to be returned for refurbishing but I decided to keep it.
So, now I have a couple questions:
1) can the old one be fixed and kept as a spare? Anyone does it?
2) the passenger's airbag light is coming up despite nothing on that seat. Could be the new TIPM or something else uncovered by the new one? Anything I can check?
