How do I fix the gas cap light

I have changed the gas cap obviously. What is the most common problem. I have checked all the hose for rub through spots and yet nothing. Cleared code numerous times and unhooked battery over night and it still comes back after a few hrs or no more than a day. Any suggestions?

I have had it twice with the stock gas cap. It started with the words GASCAP and I pulled the battery cable but after the check engine light came on, I cleaned up the opening and changed the gas cap and the check engine light went away without having to pull the cable and there are no codes. All is good in the Jeep hood. Hate funny lights on the dash!

I went through the same thing. Had the dealer smoke the system looking for cracks in the tank fittings, but found nothing. They cleared the code and it never came back.
