93 YJ rear end lock up

Ok everybody I've only had this jeep a few months.
I went to use 4wd and when I engage it and tak off it wants to drag the rear tires like the rear axle is locking up. But it only does it in 4wd I have no issues in 2wd. What's it doing and it appears to have a Ford 8.8 rear axle

That's what my buddy said he owns a 4x4 shop so it's going this week to get new gears put in.

Well the shop it's at just called said I have 3.08 in front and 4.10s in the rear
