There was a track I had ridden years ago that I could never find again. I wasn't sure exactly where it was and I knew it wasn't on any maps. Today was the day I was going to find it.

On the way to Pyramid Lake.

First view of Pyramid Lake. The overflow from Lake Tahoe flows into the Truckee River. The Truckee River drains into Pyramid Lake. Pyramid Lake has no drainage. It stays at its level through evaporation.

That's looking west, way into California. That could very well be Mt Shasta.

That's a thermal plant in the distance. They generate electricity from the heat in the ground. This part of Nevada has a lot of thermal activity.

Sorry that the video sucks, I was pointing into the sun. These horse came straight up the cliff.

Going down a sandy wash. I came across a Nevada Pinstriper!

Thanks for the kind words, y'all.

Following the work, I had to leave dear Tucson for Portland, OR. That city didn't agree with me. From there to here and I wish I had discovered this place a long time ago.

DP1120, I feel for ya. I make it out to Dallas and Houston every couple of years and what astounds me is that with all that open land, especially west Texas, it's all owned and there ain't no trespassing. I enjoy Big Bend though. You need more of Big Bend!
