Arb Compressor Wires

Just got my compressor combo in and only have a few questions. I know the red striped needs power for the compressor to work but I am looking for the best place to tap into that. All the how to s I have seen have had a spod so no wiring help. Also where is the best place to tap the blue wire to and what does the blue wire do. Is it only a dimmer and does it need to be attached. Thanks.

I tapped into the cigarette lighter for the red and the blue wire allows the switch to light up when you turn the headlights on. I can’t remember where I tapped into for that but I found it online somewhere. The blue is not necessary for function but I did it anyway.
