Poly Jounce Stops

Okay, so I picked up some poly jounce stops to replace my torn up factory stops not realizing how hard they are since I could get them delivered quicker than factory replacements. Now I'm wondering if they will affect my flex since I'm sure they won't flatten out like factory.

I'm running hockey puck bump extensions so I guess I could remove one to compensate for the difference in compression, but I also figure it's going to feel harder if they hit on the highway.

Does anyone have any experience running poly stops? Good, bad, indifferent? Should I just return them and wait for factory replacements?

If you hit a bump stop on the highway you’re probably gonna have more serious problems. [emoji50]

Just messing with you James. I have no idea. But if you have doubts, why not just order the OEM and wait a bit for them to arrive?

Lol. This is true. 😂

I wanted to get this fixed this weekend and didn't think to research beforehand (bites me every time! 😬)

I have the energy suspension poly bump stops front and rear, can't really tell any difference.

hindsight I should've cycled the suspension with the stock still in place then after with the energy in place to see how they compress but the stock units were pretty chewed up.

they were tough to push in until I used my large C-clamp, a piece of wood and WD-40 - made it easier to get them pressed back in.

Thanks for the insight. You're not the first I've read now that say they're hard to set. 🍻

Well, I went ahead and installed the poly jounce stop and secured my hockey puck extensions. Once in, I pushed up on it with a bar to see how much give it has and it seems like it should be okay. I'll have to wait until I can go somewhere and flex out the Jeep properly to know for sure.

As an aside, I wiped some car wash soap on the part that pushes into the tower and was able to pop it right in with a little leverage. These are the Rugged Ridge poly stops BTW.
