Window regulator weakness?

Ok so I’m new to jeeps I bought a 2017 2 door Willy’s Wheeler with power windows. A couple days ago do to roll down the driver side window and as soon as I touch the button there is a loudish pop and I hear the regulator roll down inside the door. I do live in upstate New York. Rochester to be exact. I’ve owned a plenty of other cars and trucks. All of those would stall the motor if the window was frozen, and only break if you continue to hold the button down and try to force it down. The regulator in my Jeep is being replaced under warranty.

My question is what have other people’s experience been with frozen windows? Is the regulator just that weak or did I get a defective one?

In my experience, if the window is frozen, the motors just won't have enough power to overcome it. However, from what you're describing with the regulator, it indeed sounds like the regulator just broke. Hard to say if it was related to the frozen window, but at least Jeep is paying for it.
