Now that Cindy and I have had JET Li, our brand new 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited home for a few days, we decided it might be a good idea to take another round of photos and to document what he looked like bone stock. We also took the time to get some shots under the hood while it's still super clean as wells as a few detail shots of this and that. Anyway here's a few you might enjoy seeing.

First up, here are a few shots from up front.

I know there are a lot of folks who aren't happy with the indicator lights on the fenders but they're starting to have a way of growing on me :)

The side vents on the JL are a nice touch.

Love that "Jeep" was put back on the side of the JL :thumb:

Of course, the JL Wrangler is a Trail Rated Jeep!

Gotta love how the door hinges tell you that you'll need a Torx T-50 to remove them.
https://wayalife.com/photos/upload/2018/02/05/20180205130658-bd87916f.jpg

We opted for the standard Rubicon wheels but think they look nice. Of course, the 33" BFG AT KO2's are awesome.

Love the Willys easter egg on them.

The LED tail lights do take a little getting used to but they are starting to grow on us as well. The new fuel door is a nice touch too.

To help give you a better look at things like the LED lights on the JL Wrangler and without losing perspective of things the way they would at night, we brought our JL into the stable to show you what they look like. First up, here are a few shots of what they look like up front.

And, here are a few shots from the rear of our JL.

A few people asked and so I thought I would show what the 3rd brake light looks like from behind. As you can see, it is designed to be adjustable so that it can still be used with a larger spare mounted on the tailgate.

The more you post pics the more I'm falling in love! I thought I was keeping my 08 for life but you have me re-thinking that!

looks like they did a good job with this one. I like how the wheels sit flush. some people don't upgrade wheels to come out the fenders and this at least makes it look right.

A few random requests:

- Is there still a grommet in the firewall where the clutch would penetrate? (wondering for aftermarket accessory wiring down the road)

- What size is the battery? It is obviously in a different position and I'm wondering what options you will have for deep cycle replacements?

- Do the locker and swaybar disconnect seem to function the same way as on the JK? (i.e. limitations on speed and whether you are in 4wd)

- Have you scoped out a good spot for a cb yet?

I'm having serious issues with all these great threads you've launched regarding your new JL. I really want to order a late availability color but it's getting harder everyday. Can you put a lock on viewing Jeep forums?

LOL!! They ain't cheap but man, they are a HUGE improvement over a 2007-10 JK :yup:

Jeep really got this one right or at least, on the Rubicons. I always hated how the JK wheels always looked like they were sitting inside the fenders.

:cheesy: Will do

If you get a Rubicon with tow package, you will get the 4 aux switches and wiring to set them up. There is no need for additional accessory wiring BUT, to answer your question...

Not sure just yet. It has a cover on it and I'll have to disconnect the leads to remove it. But, it looks like a Group 34 like before.

Yes.

LOL!! Short of running a Cobra 75 or the like, installing a full size CB is gonna be a lot harder. Still looking though.

I was also just noticing today that if a JL doesn't come with those switches, they can be added separately with a Mopar kit, but it looks fairly involved.

All the new pics look great eddie. By the time mine gets here soon, there won't be anything left for me to learn. Lol.

For that price and complexity, I'd just go aftermarket.

Was wondering if the upgraded 240 AMP Alternator and 700 AMP Battery are worth it. If you need a jump start from a car/truck would there battery have enough power to start the 700 AMP Battery.

Also since I commute in stop and go traffic for half an hour a day I don't want the engine stopping and starting 25+ times a day. If you hit the off switch will it stay locked off or every time you start the jeep do you have to keep turning it off?
