melting coil pack

driving down the freeway and my check engine comes on, a few miles further down the road it starts flashing then smoking , running rough. I pulled over turned engine off open hood aand the coil pack in melted at #1 and4 plug positions on the coil. any ideas

:idontknow: what engine mods do you have

but as mentioned, i'd start with the coil pack
