Hawse fairlead question

Local guy is selling a hawse fairlead for really cheap. It's the warn 73852 for short drum winches. Would there be any negatives if I'm using this on a large drum winch?

it won't allow for the winch line to spool correctly across the wider drum.

I believe the short drum fairlead has a narrower opening

Damn I was afraid of that. It is a narrow opening. I guess I'll pass on it then. Thanks
