Lockers

Hey guys so I’m slowly building my 2017 jk sport.
Got the lift down 35s. Next I wanna throw on some lockers but have no idea where to start. Do I get the front or rear lockers first? Or do I wait till I can buy both and install together? Honestly don’t know where to start. Any help?

If you are planning on a re-gear I would wait until you can do it all at the same time, if not I would first start with a rear locker.

Since you have a sport model I wouldn't lock the front at all since you'd be asking for trouble with the D30. Money would best be spent doing a regear, upgrading the rear to a 35 spline and adding a locker.

Have to regear? No. Should you regear? Yes. You'll get much better performance out of the driveline especially since you went bigger on the tires.

If you ever plan on going to 37s, gear it to 4.88 but no lower than that because the pinion gear gets too small on the D30.

I thought you couldn’t go 37s on a sport? Would 4.88 be a good ratio for 35s as well?

You can, but really shouldn't on the D30. I was thinking of future axle upgrades so you wouldn't have to do the rear twice.

It's a little low for 35s on the highway, but will perform well in the rocks.

Would gussets help prevent breaking?

It will help protect the C's for sure, especially with the 35s. I wouldn't do more than that on the D30. Save for a Rubi takeoff or PR44.

Cheers
