Bummer. You'll be fine until the parts come in though. We drove like that for the better part of the summer.

no need in every one with a 2012 has to wait for this code when they know its going to happen at one point or another , meanwhile customers are very agrivated and prob will effect future sales going through the process . telling people with ticking noise youl have to wait for the code to me is complete poor quality in both manufacturing and customer relations should recall the issue of replacement heads

I believe the service guy said its a bad guide rod or something like that. I told them jeep should issue a recall. He said not all 2012 have the problem

Just got my jeep back, with new cylinder head. It took 4 days, the dealer said 1 day but the mechanic broke off to bolts in the head after new cylinder head was installed. They had to take all a part again to remove the nub. Then they found out that the oil put pump was leaking. Ok at least its done and the dealer was very cool, they gave me 3 free oil changes. Also found the service guy had a jeep and this dealer is very modified friendly. Happy to have it back hope thats it. :D

My 2012 jku showed a p0308 code cylinder 2 misfire on Saturday while wheeling. Today the light went off. Anyone else exp this light going off on own.

If it went off, the code is still stored in the computer. I understand that if you get the code they reflash your computer , so it has to misfire more for the code to come back. When mine does it, I'm just going to clear it a few times till it comes on quickly after I clear it.

Had the same code on my 2012 last summer. The cyl head took 4 weeks to get in and during that time the ck eng light was intermittent on and off. No worries. I drove it the whole time and the only thing I noticed was an occasional and very slight roughness at idle. Jeep gave me a warranty on the head for 150k mi. I'm happy. Most dealerships have Pentastar cyl head specialists and can turn your JK around in less than a day. All the best.:yup:
