Got my revolution front shafts ready to go in- paint the exposed parts first?

I finally got done putting the u joints together. For $900 I was hoping they'd assemble them! The full c-clips are a pain, but it's all together. Now, should I squirt the u joint and parts that will be exposed with some flat back before installing? I can't tell if the shafts are bare steel, or have a corrosion resistant coating.

Yeah. I got the fronts first and just got the rears a few weeks ago. There was a delay, probably because of the overseas shipping, but they were up front about it and kept me in the loop.
