Gear pattern

Caught the Bug
Any professional opinion on this pattern, all in not torqued to spec but is snug and this is my pattern on drive side. Should I shim the pinion more?

IDK about "professional" but having set my own up (now 3 times) with the help of *professional* friends, it Looks GREAT!

  1. Original Regear of the Front axle
  2. Original Regear of the Rear axle
  3. Internals Swap to a PR44 Front Housing

Original Regear with brand new gear set:

PR44 Housing Install (SAME gear set so the gear pattern is now "worn")

IMO, it's a bit too shallow.
I'd add 0.005" to pinin depth and recheck. You risk breakinng the top of the ring gear tooth with a shallow pattern like that.

Very close, but needs a little tweaking

Much better with the 5 thou added. Now the primary tooth contact is in the center of the tooth where it is much stronger
Good job!

Agreed as well. Jody hit the nail on the head. As long as that didn't make your backlash too tight, you're golden.

under .010" on backlash should be good, right? I think spec is a little less, but .010" is close enough?
